A little bit about what this website is all about. ??? I am a Artist. I am a German Shepherd Breeder. I am a person who can't stand abuse of animals. I can't save them all so I am consintrating on German Shepherds.
I am trying to generate enough funds to support, my efforts to rescue more German Shepherd Puppies, and Adults, and give them a second chance at a responsable home, Free to orginizations for training for service dogs of all kinds ,SAR, Service to the Blind, Cancer Sniff Dogs, Service Rehabilitation Dogs, And now Wounded Worrior Project puppies and Dogs.. etc. I hope to give them the love back that these wonderful dogs give unconditionally to us. Vet bills, Air and heat, good food, cost, more than I can aford so I am trying to sell some of my paintings to subsidize the cost. Please Help. !! I also do Ukranion Easter Eggs, and Ikon Paintings.

Always proud of her Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish roots. She can read and write several languages, she did not speak English until she was fifteen, and still now, under pressure will revert back to Ukrainian. At an early age and for years later she finished restoring Icons in St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Church in Chicago on Saturdays and Sundays, while other children played... She repaid her families debit for sponsoring her Mother and Father. To come to the United States. Sonia refurbished all the paintings in the whole church, some times staying overnight to complete a painting before the tempera was set, all this on a scaffold, or lying on her back for days. All the Stain Glass was reworked and fired. The Gold leaf on the Icons and the alter were replaced and touched up. This all took 3 years of life after school, and all of her weekends. For her work in St. Vladimir’s Church, her Sponcer, The Holy Father Episcope, submitted her work and she was given the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in Byzantine Restoration Art. Sonia also won a four-year scholarship in high school to the Art Institute in Chicago. But was unable to attend, because of her mothers protest, and Sonia being under age, to accept on her own.
Sonia Griffiths, passion for art is reflected in her colorful and realistic work, The Ukrainian Easter Eggs she does come naturally and without formal training. There are very few people still making the traditional eggs with the wax and dye method. She would like to pass this art form on. Sonia and her Husband Anthony have restored many Religious Artifax and Icon paintings. Using the old 100 year old wood and painting oil or tempera originals. She also has a passion for waterfalls and forest seens and she hardly remembers but is compelled to commit to canvas. She also does portraits by commission. Each one of her paintings captures the essence of the moment. Often there is a hidden message she wants to convey. Strong colors, soft or hard edges, light and shadow are all captured by the artist’s eye. Because of her talent she is being recognized without much promotion.
She tought oil painting, in workshops through the year. National and International private collectors have acquired her paintings. She has received awards for her work (Chicago Traditional Oils) First Place 1978, (Kiev Troika Exhibit in Moscow) for Byzantine art. National Geographic (Ukrainian Egg Tradition)
